This is a Furuno FA-50 with a Yacht Devices NMEA0183 Gateway Converter plug-and-play kit. This will allow the FA-50 to be used with a NMEA2000 system.

This gateway has already been converted to 38400 baud for AIS, and the software has been updated.

This FA-50 AIS unit has been fully tested using a TZTL12F (Ethernet) and a Garmin 5208 via NMEA2000 and is functioning perfectly. It has been updated to the latest firmware version 2.02.

Important: No MMSI has been programmed, so it’s ready for installation and setup with your unique MMSI. We offer MMSI programming for an additional fee—please let us know at checkout if you’d like this service. If not, this unit will need to be configured with a PC via Ethernet. You can find more instructions on Furuno’s website.

Note: The unit will not transmit until an MMSI is entered. This needs to be connected to a VHF/AIS antenna or splitter.
