This came to us from a Marine Electronics distributor that was downsizing excess inventory.  This is a new open box 2/3kw In-Hull Transducer. Due to storage conditions and moving around, these transducers may have minor scratches, have some dusty, and show evidence of warehouse shelf storage.  However, they have never been installed and each has a factory length cable with factory tinned wire ends.

Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure buyers are receiving a working product, each transducer has been tested on an Airmar TDT1000 – a printed test report will be included.

It comes complete with transducer, installation hardware, cork liner, transducer tank, and a test report.

It has 2kw output on the high frequency side (130-210khz), and 3kw output on the low side (33-60khz). This would be an excellent transducer to pair with a DFF3, FCV-295, FCV-1150, etc. as the FFS (Furuno Free Synthesis) allows you to select frequencies between 28 and 200 for low and high so you can dial in the right frequency for whatever type of fishing you are doing. Also works with the Raymarine DSM400.

While this variable frequency is similar to CHIRP, we are unsure as to whether this R299 can be “CHIRPED”. It is our understanding that the R299 and R599 are similar, and the R299 may even be “chirp ready”, but that the R599 has heat sinks that are not present in the R299. Additionally, because the R299 is not going to be included in most sounder module’s XID databases, and because XID is the way a sounder module is aware of what transducer is hooked up to it, it won’t be recognized by most sounder modules as a connected transducer. Some brands, like Garmin with a GSD26, have a way to program a transducer like this for fixed frequency operation only, but other brands, like Raymarine with a CP570, have no way of manually programming parameters. Therefore, any off label use is at the sole discretion of the buyer, as we recommend using this on sounders like the DFF3 or FCV-295/1150 as those are the units this transducer was designed for.

Airmar recommends that this only be mounted in solid fiberglass hulls, or you can pocket mount.

Thanks for looking.
