This unit has been fully tested and run for several hours to ensure that all included components are fully functional. We have tested all imaging settings as well as both the X & Y axis of rotation; there is no binding as the unit rotates in any direction with ease. The gyro stabilization of this camera is incredible! Once you experience the safety and functionality benefits of gyro stabilized thermal camera, you will never go back to a camera without it.
The stabilizing feature keeps the eye of the camera level and true even in the roughest sea conditions. The camera’s 35mm thermal lens can detect small vessels from over 2 miles away, giving you more time to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. The optical color TV camera has 10x zoom matching that of the thermal e-zoom capabilities allowing for an easy transition between thermal and optical images when zoomed in.
As is consistent with any pre-owned thermal camera, the Germanium lens on the thermal element has some spots. Because a thermal camera is thermal and not optical, these spots are harmless and a normal reaction of Germanium to a marine environment. The chevrons on the sides of the unit have some light spoting but they are still shiny and reflective. The light blemishes on the chevrons cannot be seen from more than a few feet away.
We have connected this system to a PC and verified that the thermal camera and JCU have been updated to the latest firmware to run optimally.
The Power, Ethernet cable and both Coax cables are all intact and not damaged or altered in any way. This complete system comes with ALL components necessary for installation on your vessel, most of the items are NEW and never used!
