This system was originally sold in 2014 to a boat undergoing a refit. The refit was halted mid-way through due to a lawsuit related to structural work that was being done on the boat. The system was placed in warehouse storage where it has remained since then, but not before the cable was removed from it and ran in the boat.
We acquired what was left of the system, which was the transducer module and the power module, from the warehouse along with a bunch of other items, and sent it to FarSounder for an evaluation, expecting it to pass with flying colors. We were surprised to find out that FarSounder's evaluation came back with some unexpected results, such as a few dead channels and generally mediocre performance. They also mentioned that the system has undergone performance improvements since this one was sold. We have included a full screenshot of the entire evaluation report - we will let the buyer be the judge.
We would prefer selling this to someone who is running one of these or a fleet of these systems and wants a spare transducer and power module. As a part of the eval, we did get a quote to repair/upgrade the system:
New TM: $66,990 (for comparison)
Your TM: New Array: $43,225
Your TM: New Array and New Electronics: $52,700
New PM:
Power Module Upgrade: $36,350
Your PM: $6,282
From what we can gather, it would be just shy of $50,000 to make this "work" and closer to $90,000 for this to be equivalent to a new system. We don't feel either is cost effective.
We are selling this as is, as described, for parts/repair with no returns. It may very well be a home run to the right buyer. If you are purchasing for a new install, please be aware that no cable is included to connect the transducer to the power module, and no software/CPU is included, just the hardware shown and described. The pelican case which is used to transport and ship the transducer module is included.
