This complete vessel monitoring system was part of the inventory of a marine electronics company that went out of business. We checked with Thorium's VMS support department (240-492-1944) and were told that it can be activated, and that the cost to activate it for testing purposes would be $85 plus the first month of service, which varies based on locality, in South Florida where we are, it is $150/mo.

Due to our inability to test this fully before sale, we will guarantee functionality, but we cannot reiumburse activation and subscription fees - in other words, if you purchase this and it doesn't work, you can send it back for a full refund of the purchase price/shipping within 30 days of reciept but we cannot reimburse the money paid to Thorium for activation and subscription.

We noticed the battery in the tablet was dead, so we replaced it, it charges to 87%, not sure why, but it is a new battery.

Before purchasing please ensure that this system is supported by whatever service or agency needs to monitor your vessel, the gentleman monitoring Thorium's VMS support was very helpful and can assist with activation.

According to NOAA Fisheries web site, it is still an approved system. We ask that the buyer do their due diligence and please verify that this system is appropriate for your fishery and vessel.

This system comes new in opened packaging with everything shown.
