Additional Notes: We recently completed a comprehensive evaluation of all of our smart transducers.
This transducer is a NMEA0183 Smart Transducer. It’s wiring was cut short, there is 12″ remaining enough to splice into with a suitable length of wire. This is effectively a universal loose wire NMEA0183 smart sensor – red and black are 12v+ and 12v- and white and blue are NMEA+ and NMEA-
It is a depth/speed unit. Unfortunately, the temperature function is not functional, but depth and speed are fully functional (these functions are independent of one another within the transducer so the failure of one does not correlate to an imminent failure of the other). Airmar temp sensors are analog resistors and unfortunately, tend to be the first thing to fail on any transducer. If water temperature is unimportant to your use, this would be a very economical way to have depth and speed through water on your NMEA0183 device.
Included are the necessary installation materials for a new install, including instructions, as well as a black o-ring in case you are retrofitting the insert to a non-valve housing.
