Additional Notes: We have assembled a handful of “Complete Add-On” kits which are intended to be used on displays like the Garmin GPSmap 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, and 8200 series, Furuno Navnet 3D and TZT series, or any other NMEA2000 display that either does not have an internal GPS antenna or that has an internal GPS antenna that lacks accuracy due to installation location.
THIS KIT INCLUDES THE ENTIRE NMEA2000 BACKBONE. Essentially, if you have a display and need a NMEA2000-based external GPS for it, this has EVERYTHING needed – no piece-mealing stuff together, we’ve already done it for you.
All of the Garmin GPS-19X NMEA2000 GPS Antennas are new and have been updated to the latest software (this is necessary as older software can result in incorrect date/time and less accurate position due to GPS rollover) All antennas have been tested and include a 90 day warranty. We have found Garmin GPS antennas to be one of the most accurate and reliable brands and recommend them for all brands, not just Garmin. Since they’re NMEA2000, they can be used on any NMEA2000 device from any manufacturer.
The kit includes the antenna, 3 different style mounts, and all necessary NMEA2000 hardware to go from the display’s NMEA2000 port to the antenna.
When you buy a GPS antenna from Garmin, it doesn’t include all of the necessary NMEA2000 components, it only includes a drop cable and t-connector. This kit makes it easy and affordable – you will assemble the 3x t-connectors and terminators and then use the included short drop cable to go to the display, the longer drop cable to go to the GPS-19x, and the power cable to power the backbone with 12vdc power.
The NMEA2000 kits are assembled from extra NMEA2000 hardware we accumulated through liquidations – All NMEA2000 hardware in this kit is Navico-branded except the power cable, which is Garmin brand. Because NMEA2000 is standardized, all NMEA2000 certified componentry must meet the same design requirements. Therefore, all NMEA2000 componentry is interchangeable and plug and play so adding a Garmin NMEA2000 power cable to a Navico backbone is a normal and accepted practice. All parts have been in bin storage and are new, some may have a slight scuff or may have a small bit of dust from bin storage and moving.
