This was purchased 6/2017 to track the owner of Max Marine Electronics’ personal vessel as per insurance requirements. He opted for the Gen3 to be able to send messages, however, he was never able to find a spot on the boat that was accessible enough to send messages while being hidden enough to conceal the unit while being exposed enough to maintain satellite communications so the unit lived in the water-tight console. A recent rash of boat thefts in South Florida was enough to get him to switch to a more sophisticated asset tracking and security/surveillance system for the boat. This has been powered on maybe 3-4 times and 4 original lithium batteries are included. No cables included, but the USB adapter is a regular android plug. Max has de-activated the ESN so you can activate the unit immediately.
