Description
Short story long, we had a customer with a Mercury Vessel view 502 on board that had a processor board failure (that is the little PCB that sits on top of the main board). The boat was sponsored by another brand of marine electronics. Instead of spending $800 on a replacement display, we used the processor PCB out of a new GO5 XSE to fix the Vesselview. Because the only way to open a GO unit is to cut through the adhesive that holds the screen in place, we are parting out the leftover pieces. This GO5 XSE LCD was powered on to verify functionality but has not been “in use” on board a vessel as it was pulled from a new unit. It may have a scratch or two from the disassembly process, but for someone who is able to perform the repair, it would be an excellent option for someone with one of these units that has a cracked screen or similar.
Please do not buy unless you have the ability to perform the repair. While the repair is not especially difficult, it requires some technical skills.
Thanks for looking!
