Additional Notes: This is a “new but not new” GPSmap 8624 display, we’re calling it a Max Marine Electronics refurbished unit. We needed to exhaust some aging service parts we had so we built this 8624 with a new front and rear case, new case seal gasket, new main board, new backlight board, new touchscreen board, and all new internal cables and interconnects. The only thing that is not new are some of the case screws and some of the rubber weather caps.
The front case (including LCD) is the newest version (revision 3) so it should last much longer than the previous revisions which were prone to delamination. We have fully tested the unit and updated software to the latest version. We are kitting it up just as it comes from Garmin with GPS antenna, NMEA2000 backbone kit, etc. All accessories are new except the magnetic suncover, which is in good, not perfect, condition, and the trim bezels, which may be new but we’re not sure.
Because the rear case is a service part, this unit does not have a serial number sticker. It does have a unit ID, but we are not sure if that can be used for activecaptain and other similar things. Please do your due diligence to make sure this display will work for your needs. It is ineligible for Garmin warranty as it is not a new unit being sold at a new price. Max Marine Electronics warrants the unit for 90 days. If purchasing through eBay or certain credit cards, you can opt into additional warranty coverage for a fee.
