Description
This AIS600 was updated to the latest software upon receipt and is working as an AIS receiver. We do not have the programming software CD to determine whether it has had an MMSI programmed into it or not, however, because of the warning light and the fact that it is in receive only, we would guess that it has not been programmed.
Because we are unable to test beyond AIS receive capabilities, this is being sold as is for parts/repair only. It is priced as an AIS receive only unit, which may be able to be used as a transponder with programming.
We believe garmin does offer a $50 re-programming or $450 flat rate exchange of this unit.
This AIS600 is in silent mode (only Rx), which means that it will receive AIS signal but not transmit any position data.
Please be aware of the fact that this programming CD is only available to Garmin dealers and cannot be downloaded.
