Description
This Furuno 1944CBB Navnet VX2 radar system is in excellent used condition. This is a great radar system to find birds or for general navigation. This comes just as it would from Furuno (with the exception of the display, which would have been sold separately)…as a standalone radar system with the capability to add other functionality by adding peripherals (AIS module for AIS, Sounder module for sounder, Chart card for chartplotter, etc). The unit uses CMAP NT MAX SD Cards, none are included. We have upgraded it to the latest software version for optimal performance. The radar picks up targets very well, both near and far.
The VX2 black box shares the same user interface as the normal VX2 units but allows for a larger screen to be used and has a composite video in Port for camera, etc.
This includes:
- RPU-015 – 1944CBB processor and power cable (7ft with 15A fuse)
- RSB-0070-059 6kw Open Array – Great Condition was resprayed by previous owner. This Radar has the upgraded Magnetron.
- 4′ Antenna for pedestal – Great Condition was also resprayed but has NO Furuno Decal.
- MU-155c – Furuno 15″ Comes with 4x screw hole covers,VGA cable (10ft) and power cable (5ft with 10A fuse) The monitor is in great Condtion; this is the Light Grey version.
- RCU-017 – controller for processor – cable (5m). Has flushing mounting bracket & Sun Cover for controller.
- Interconnect Radar Cable – 45 ft

As you can see, the system is fully functional – picks up targets well. The inside and outside of the array look good. All sealing grommets, cover plates, etc. for the array are included. A chart card is not included but the card reader has been tested, we uploaded the latest software onto the unit for the best possible performance. Sounder is not included but can be added for a nominal cost (around $200 plus transducer for the ETR 6/10).
This would be great for a yacht with a larger standalone radar that wants to modernize their radar system without breaking the bank, or for any smaller boat that wants a nice large display that they can add a sounder module to for a complete nav solution. This is fully compliant with USCG Category 1 and 2 regs for towing vessels under 300 tons if you’re trying to get compliant.This is a full radar package that needs nothing but a boat to put it on. The system as a whole is in great working condition.
No Chart Card, Heading Sensor, GPS Antenna nor Sounder module included.
